We wish you a Merry Christmas and happy holiday season. As 2002 winds down Camille and Wayne have become empty nesters. Andy left for college activities on July 29 and primary contact with both young men is via Instant Messenger. The boys were home for Thanksgiving and we are looking forward to their return for Christmas.

High school graduation was a joyous and significant event, not only for Andy, but also for our extended family. Chas came home for the week before and returned to Rolla, Missouri for the summer.

Wayne's parents, Marge and Gil, came from Billings. Mom especially enjoyed a quick visit to one of the Riverboat Casinos in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was well ahead at a slot machine until we kept looking over her shoulder. Julie also flew in from Seattle for the occasion. It is always exciting (literally) when she is around.

Chas is a senior at University of Missouri-Rolla. A highlight of his summer was a one-week visit to John Deere. This was the kick-off of a yearlong project; he is part of a four-member UMR design team. He has become quite busy as vice president of his Delta Tau Delta chapter, photo editor for the Missouri Miner, and co-host for a student radio program --- Politics As Usual (8PM Thursdays). For the summer he worked for the mechanical engineering department and hopefully will graduate in a year. He wants to design machines and would love to have a job in Detroit working for one of the big three automakers.

In June Andy finished his senior year at Millard North, but he kept up his drum and piano lessons until the week before he left for college debate institute on July 29. Andy is on the policy debate team at the University of Missouri - Kansas City and is majoring in economics. He and his partner were a nationally top ranked JV team this fall; however, his debating varsity at Wake Forest's Franklin R. Shirley Dixie Classic in November was the highlight of the fall. This is one of the largest college tournaments and Andy was thrilled to go as a freshman.

Andy and Mary Lu McCoy, whom he has studied with since the 3rd grade. He played Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue for his recital.

Andy, Doug, Ryan, & Tim, the MNHS Kazoo Orchestra.

Camille also joined the college set this fall. She decided to revisit her childhood dream to be an elementary school librarian. This is keeping her plenty busy this fall and she will be a full time student in the winter semester. In June Camille took her mother Dorothy to Ohio for a family reunion. She also continues to work at Waldenbooks and is as busy as ever at St. Andrew's Church.

At the Culp family reunion in Buena Vista, Colorado, Wayne's brother Greg and Camille are in a pointed discussion.

Wayne and backpacking buddy Mike McLaughlin at Isle Royale.

Wayne finished another year at Qwest. That is 26 years for you that are counting. Most of you probably know about the hard financial times in telecommunications and for Qwest in particular. We are all hoping Qwest has turned itself around and that the stock will be worth something in the future. It was fun for Camille and Wayne to go on a quick vacation to Colorado for Wayne's family reunion and for the wedding of a family friend. You can also see the pictures of his backpacking trip to Isle Royale National Park in September.
